We went to our friend Dave's birthday party last night at an awesome campsite...saw Diana, one of Makaia's favorite people. Had such a great time!
On the way home, Makaia decided to eat her foot. Does everyone come that flexible?

Summer Days

It's been so hot here that our days now revolve around what time we are going into the pool. Makaia loves to swim and longs to have the freedom to swim on her own...just a few more years sweetheart!

Cat and mouse

Hana (the dog) likes to hide under the dining room chairs. Makaia's favorite thing to do is chase Hana in and out of each chair and try to pull Hana out (thus, tugging on her legs/fur.) While Makaia loves this cat and mouse game, Hana and Mommy are more than tired of it!!!

Gymnastics?

Makaia trying to climb a chair. Being the bright girl that she is, she pulled in some of her resources to help her (ie. her toy) We have noticed recently that she has excellent balance!!!

I'm a big girl now

Same story, different day. Makaia loves looking out the big window in front so I allow her to skip the highchair so she can chow down her afternoon snack in her favorite spot. She will often take a bite then lean back in her chair like it is some relaxing day. I am so thankful that I get to share these cute little moments with her.

July 4th picture

Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's

Grandpa and Grandma Schmidt (Sabrina's parents) flew Mommy and Makaia to Fresno for a visit. Daddy had to stay home and work :(
We had a blast though and can't wait to go back again soon.

Father's Day pic

Last year I started doing an annual photo shoot for Father's Day. This is this year's pic :) We put it in a big frame that Daddy can look at all year. We could not believe the difference in Makaia from last year's pic...so crazy!

County Fair

We took Makaia to the fair last week and she enjoyed her 2 favorites...pizza and ice cream. She is still too tiny to ride any of the kiddie rides, but we still had a good time!

She and John kept going for the ice cream at the same time, which made us all laugh. Her personality has really come out recently and she is such a cutie.

I have yet to catch her on camera when she is giggling hysterically but this comes pretty close. Girlfriend loves her ice cream!

Another Milestone

Just finished lunch. Mommy made Makaia a special sandwich in the shape of a star. Usually she takes bites out of it and we hold it, but today she ate it ALL BY HERSELF! And she was quite pleased with her new skills (when it was all gone, she clapped for herself...sorry, didn't get that part on tape)

She even knows where Diana lives and will walk up the pathway to their front door when we are out for walks. She always has a huge smile and a hug for these two :)
