Our "vacation"

We took 10 days and went up to Fresno and the Sierra's for our vacation. Unfortunately, my Grandmother passed away 2 days after we got there (my Dad's mom.) Our "vacation" was not what we had planned but that is the way it goes sometimes. I was able to see her before she died, which I was greatful for. We also found out that John's Mom was in the hospital so we were worried about her. We are so happy she is better now!
We did manage to make it up to the mountains, which was the best part of the trip. We had so much fun! The girls (me, Makaia, my sister, mom, and my sister's mother-in-law Mary) all rented a cabin in Huntington Lake while the guys (John, my Dad, Brother-in-law Kyle, his brother and dad) went backpacking. My Dad's sisters and family came into town for the funeral so we were all together for that. My cousin Ian even came back from deployment in Japan, which was awesome.
I was able to attend a baby shower for my friend Krista. We also had a playdate with my friend Lauren and her almost 1 yr. old Addison. We had a busy trip!

Here is a link to a bunch of pictures we took http://www.flickr.com/photos/41734921@N03/sets/72157621989964521/
Once Kyle sends me a disc of all the guy's pictures from the mountains, I will post those. There are some good ones in that bunch :)

Below are some videos we took:

Play Date

Makaia got to go over to Olivia's house today and had a blast swimming and playing! She was fascinated by all of Olivia's toys (other people's toys are always much more fun than our own.) Makaia fell asleep less than a minute after we drove away, because of all the fun she had!

My Gym

We had our first official class at My Gym today. Makaia LOVED it and we get to go back every week. We have tried out a bunch of toddler gyms and found this one to be the best. We liked it much better than Gymboree! The staff does an amazing job with the kids and there is lots of room to practice their motor skills. It will help her social skills too and maybe take the shyness out a bit :)

Makaia did a somersault on one of the mats and also "surfed" on a teeter-totter mat. She really liked the trampoline and swings. It was funny....when the staff put the swings away, all the toddlers waddled after them like, "Hey, come back here with our swings!"

They change the equipment every week so the gym will look totally different next time. So fun!

Some super cute videos (no sound again):

Neighborhood Fun

When the girls next door ride by on their skateboard, Makaia always goes to the window to watch. As you can tell, she wants to do it just like the big girls!

Phone-A-Friend

Not sure what happened to the sound on our camera, but the video is funny enough by itself. We have no idea where she learns this stuff! ha ha ha

Beach Day

We had so much fun on Thursday! Our brother-in-law's (Kyle) brother and his wife were in town and we were able to spend a fantastic afternoon with them at the beach and got ice cream after dinner. Makaia loved playinng with Kayla and Connor in the sand!!!
