Silly Makaia!

Makaia laughing

Makaia loves to laugh, but tends to stop when we pull out the camera. Playing with Daddy one night, she finally let us record her. She is so cute when she laughs and she really gets going into the giggles. She always gets the hiccups though whenever she laughs this hard!

Terrorizing the dog

Makaia has learned how to crab hold of the dog. I need to get more recent video though, because after we took this video she has since learned to wrestle Hana to the ground, grab hold of her sweater and try to pick her up off the ground. Poor dog! We are currently learning how to give nice pets to the doggie! She "talks" (ie: jabbers) in this video, which is really cute.

Fun at the beach

Here is Makaia crawling around on the sand. This was her first time really playing at the beach and enjoying the sand. She had an absolute blast and got sooooooo dirty!

First trip to the snow

This was a few days after Christmas. It was so beautiful at the mountains and very cold. We had so much fun introducing Makaia to the snow. She even took a sled ride with John. The video is of her Uncle Kyle tossing snow around, which she really liked. There is also a photo of her and John below.

Bath tub fun

Makaia in the bath tub with all her new bath toys and bubble bath. Everyone (Sabrina's Mom, Dad, sister Heidi and our brother-in-law Kyle)came in to watch John give her a bath and play with her toys. She loves to splash!

Opening gifts

Here is Makaia opening gifts on Christmas morning. She enjoyed opening the first 5 presents but then she got over-stimulated and we had to open the rest for her. She didn't know what to do with all of the toys and got a bit overwhelmed and tired.

Christmas

We have been so busy the last couple of weeks!!! Makaia has had a lot happen over her 1st Christmas. We 1st stopped at John's family's for a pre xmas celebration on the 21st then headed up to Sabrina's family's for a little over a week. Santa was extremely good to Makaia and she made out like a bandit. Before we left for our trip, she had cut her first tooth (just before she turned 10 months...late bloomer). While we were gone, she had 3 more teeth start to poke through her red, swollen gums. Poor thing was in pain. Those top 2 front teeth looked really painful and sharp. I had gotten sick (teaching kindergarten) right before our trip and then she got it. Her first cold! She made it 10 months without getting sick so we were just waiting. A sick, teething infant is NOT FUN! She also experienced her first nosebleed on xmas day. We took her to the snow for the first time also. So many firsts for her!
