County Fair

We took Makaia to the fair last week and she enjoyed her 2 favorites...pizza and ice cream. She is still too tiny to ride any of the kiddie rides, but we still had a good time!

She and John kept going for the ice cream at the same time, which made us all laugh. Her personality has really come out recently and she is such a cutie.

Ice Cream Sugar Rush

I have yet to catch her on camera when she is giggling hysterically but this comes pretty close. Girlfriend loves her ice cream!

Another Milestone

Just finished lunch. Mommy made Makaia a special sandwich in the shape of a star. Usually she takes bites out of it and we hold it, but today she ate it ALL BY HERSELF! And she was quite pleased with her new skills (when it was all gone, she clapped for herself...sorry, didn't get that part on tape)

Fun with friends

Makaia and our good friend Michele playing with her water station

Makaia with her friends Diana and Marissa. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES these girls!!!
She even knows where Diana lives and will walk up the pathway to their front door when we are out for walks. She always has a huge smile and a hug for these two :)

Family Party

John's family came down last weekend for a bbq to celebrate the summer birthday's in our family.

Flower girl pics

This one is at the rehearsal

Our friend Lynette sent us these wondeful pictures from Trevor and Bethany's wedding of her girls (the other 2 flower girls) and Makaia.
Her girls were so sweet with Makaia!

Daddy was standing at the front of the altar with her stuffed penguin so we aimed her straight for him

The aisle was sooooo long so the girls walked her halfway then they sprinkled their petals and left Makaia to do her own thing down the rest of the aisle

Proud Mommy in the background...I was thinking, "Oh my gosh she's doing it, and she's not crying and running back to me!"

Pretty girl managed to carry her basket the whole way!

Dancing with Bethany on the dance floor.

The sun is finally out

The sun has come through a bit so we are getting the backyard together. First things first, Makaia's sprinkle pool. She is such a cautious little girl and wary of new things so it took some getting used to but now she LOVES it!

Teeth to brush

Makaia has started to take an interest in brushing her own teeth, thank you! I tried to do it last night and she took the brush away from me and wanted to do it herself.

I heart balsamic vinegar

I couldn't stop laughing at the dinner table a few nights ago! Makaia is in love with balsmaic vinegar. Whenever she won't eat something, we just put a little balsamic on it and she scarfs it down. This night she developed a little "stache" and I couldn't help but laugh at her.

Isn't it supposed to be summer?

It was freezing here last week...pants and sweaters. We are ready for swimsuits! When is the sun going to come out? Oh well, Makaia looked so cute in her fuzzy slippers :)

Daddy's birthday

Grandma and Grandpa were here to greet us when we got home from Santa Barbara. We celebrated John's birthday and Grandpa (as usual) let Makaia do things that she normally isn't allowed to do.

Flower girl/Santa Barbara

Memorial Day trip to Santa Barbara…incredible!
We had a blast and didn’t want to come home. Makaia had a tough trip though. We are starting to see that she feels really insecure when there is a bunch of people and in new surroundings. This resulted in so many TANTRUMS! argh. Those were so frustrating. We keep forgetting that she is so young and her personality isn’t very “roll with it.”…She was fine as long as she was alone with us or doing what she wanted to do (stubborn!)…but of course, she was never her sweet self when we wanted her to be. Can’t these kids come programmed? Ha ha ha. When we got
home, she put a huge smile on her face and immediately hugged her stuffed animals with this “Thank God I'm home” look on her face.

1st stop on our trip was Jillian and Tim’s in LA. Jillian gave us a wonderful gift and watched Makaia so we could have a date night (Taco Bell never tasted so good!)

At the beach on our first day in Santa Barbara. She kept taking off towards the water and enjoyed making us chase her down!

Here she is with Trevor and Bethany :)

We took Makaia to Chase Palm Park and her first carousel ride...which she absolutely HATED. This is the only picture of her where she isn't clutching John's shirt!

Bethany and Trevor's wedding weekend was so amazing and beautiful!!! They have the sweetest family and friends and we really enjoyed all of the time we got to spend with them.

Makaia was a super-cute flower girl (minus all of the tantrums) and she did her job when it counted. She was clutch under pressure :)

We were so busy with Makaia that we didn't get any photos of her or the wedding, but hopefully we will try and find a way to upload the video!
