1 yr. check-up

We went to visit the pediatrician this morning for our 1 year check-up. Makaia is healthy and growing proportionally to her previous charts. She is really petite...27 inches long and 18 pounds, 1 ounce (12th percentile)....but the size of head is in the 70th percentile...thank Daddy for that. No wonder I had to have a C-section!

What a weekend!!!!

Makaia and I were off on an adventure last weekend. We came back home exhausted, but we had a wonderful time! It was a long trip and Makaia did great, for the most part. She definitely had her moments but I asked a lot of her travel-wise so she handled things pretty well. It has taken a few days to get back on track but the trip was well worth it! We got to see some of our favorite people...

First we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma for one night. We had lunch in a park and got to meet Grandma's co-workers. We also had dinner with Aunt Heather, Uncle Matt, and cousin Hudson.
The next day, it was off to SB. First, had a fantastic lunch with our friend Trevor and then headed over to see his fiancee Bethany for her bridal shower. We are so happy we were able to be there. We wouldn't have missed it for the world. Makaia is one of the flower girls in the upcoming wedding and we were able to meet some of Bethany's family and friends, who were all so nice! The long drive affected Makaia though and she got herself into plenty of trouble in the garden and had a few tantrums...which she has never done in public before. I was so used to this quiet little thing so she threw me for a loop that day.
Her favorite activity was the water fountain, where she wanted to jump in so badly. She even took her sippy cup for a swim in it...Yay!

Then we drove to our friend Jillian and Tim's to spend the night. We had a great time there, which is no suprise because they are some of the nicest people ever. I was so bummed because I forgot to get a picture of Jillian and Makaia, because they were so cute together. I guess I was too tired by then to think straight. I will make sure to get a boatload on our next visit!

Let's jam

Makaia received this guitar from one of our neighbors and she loves to push all of the buttons...over and over and over again!

Waiting for Daddy

When I hear John's car coming home from work I say, "DADDY'S HOME!" and I was able to get a shot of what my 2 kids do every day when his car pulls up. John will always get out and wave to them :) So cute!

Fashionista

Makaia got a new purse (we love the $1 bins at Target!) and has been toting it around nonstop. She puts it on her own arm and collects toys to put in it. She has been so funny lately!

Yummy in the tummy

Makaia loved her first experience with spaghetti! And mommy LOVED cleaning up the mess!
Makaia was nice enough to run her spaghetti hands through her hair and up her nose!
This picture doesn't even come close to doing justice to what it really looked like.

Big hands

Makaia was home with Daddy on Wednesday while Mommy was teaching. Mommy came home to this hilarious video of some new gardening gloves.

Another use for Target bags!

She is just big enough to fit into her very own Target bag. Stylin'!!! Now we won't get our clothes wet. (This was her Daddy's idea by the way)

Some lovin' for the doggy

Makaia loves to give hugs to her doggy! Hana is not always thrilled to be on the receiving end of those hugs though :)

Drinking from the trough

Makaia received this awesome toy for her birthday from Aunt Heather, Uncle Matt, and cousin Hudson. She absolutely loves this thing and presses the noise buttons every chance she gets! She likes it so much that she decided it was best to drink from it! We have sippy cups for that Makaia!
